Let me join the chorus and say Dan, I never knew you could pour your heart into words as you do here. Thank you so much for sharing what's inside because talking is one of the hard things at this point.
You, Dina, Layla and Ozzie mean everything to me. I look in his eyes (okay at his eyes because I haven't seen them open!) and I see what I love about all of you: heart, devotion and a huge show of love and loyalty.
Hugs to all of you,
Amy

Wow. He is BEAUTIFUL.

Ozzie's second cousin (our little Renee) wouldn't let me turn off the computer so I could get her to bed...

Again, I can only think your lives have just been graced with a lifetime of smiles.

Thanks for sharing, even with the odd family members out on the west coast,

Terry (fka JoJo)

God, in his wisdom, delivers messages in miracles. Seldom, in our busy lives, do we pause to stop, listen and reflect on the purpose and meaning of what we are given...then it seemed our world suddenly collapsed and He had our undivided attention.

Each of us are blessed daily with tiny moments that at times pass by unappreciated and possibly even unnoticed. One of our most precious blessings is having friends and family to share in life’s triumphs and tragedies.

The miracle of Oz is the message of a renewed sense of family, faith, hope, love and trust and the knowledge that the journey ahead will indeed be traveled down a golden yellow brick road.

Expecting the Best is our vision, delivering it is our goal...

Love,
Dad

Hey Daniel and Dina,

Congratulations, I can’t wait to meet Ozzie! Your blogs are beautiful, I enjoy reading them. When I heard that Ozzie was born with Down syndrome, I immediately thought of this poem and wanted to share it with both of you. Hope that you enjoy it.
Love, Audrey

HEAVEN'S VERY SPECIAL CHILD

A meeting was held quite far from Earth:
"It's time again for another birth."
Said the Angels to the Lord Above,
"This special child will need much love."

"His progress may seem very slow,
Accomplishments he may not show
And he'll require extra care
From folks he meets way down there."

"He may not run or laugh or play, his thoughts may seem quite far away:
In many ways he isn't adapt
And he'll be known as handicapped."

"So let's be careful where he's sent
We want his life to be content.
Please, Lord, find the parents who
Will do a special job for you."

"They will not realize right away
The leading role they're asked to play
But with this child sent from above
Comes a stronger faith and richer love."

"And soon they'll know the privilege given
In caring for the Gift from Heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek and mild
Is Heaven's Very Special Child."

Oh my goodness -- Oz is beautiful! Congratulations! I love the way you write. You're honest; you peel away all the "I shoulds" and write those raw words as we have all felt them. I have a feeling that Oz is going to do just fine.
